Why this petition matters

While there may be mixed opinions of the video game Aliens: Colonial Marines, one thing is certain - for those who have played the Bug Hunt horde mode, it is often regarded as the BEST part of the game because it successfully captures the essence of the Aliens movie (see video above for demonstration of such).

As such, we, the undersigned, feel that there is an immense demand for this particular game mode, and believe that if other gamers are able to experience it themselves, that they will enjoy it as well.  Needless to say, we are extremely pleased with Bug Hunt and would very much support more Bug Hunt DLC from Gearbox / Demiurge Studios, either in a single DLC release, or a second season pass offering a collection of Bug Hunt maps. For example, a large contingent of fans has expressed a great interest to see the following map locations be released for the Bug Hunt game mode, preferably with a boss battle at wave 20 (crusher) and wave 30 (queen where space allows, or simultaneous crushers for stages in which the environment is an issue):

1- Fury 161 (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, including planet surface to explore, along with prison and full leadworks area; great opportunity to include runner skin from dog alien in Alien 3; although assets can be lifted from Fury 161 movie pack to make this more feasible, please note that the layout had to be condensed for TDM balancing and took away from having an authentic experience, which could be corrected by a more open, more movie accurate Bug Hunt map )

2- Atmosphere Processor (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, featuring full sublevels and including expanded hive area with working eggs/chestbursters from cocooned, impregnated colonists; although assets can be lifted from Movie map pack to make this more feasible, please note that the layout had to be condensed for TDM balancing and took away from having an authentic experience, which could be corrected by a more open, more movie accurate Bug Hunt map )

3- USCSS Nostromo (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, including escape pod from Alien finale; although assets can be lifted from Movie map pack to make this more feasible, please note that the layout had to be condensed for Escape/Survivor balancing and took away from having an authentic experience, which could be corrected by a more open, more movie accurate Bug Hunt map )

4- Derelict (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, allowing us to explore the ship's areas in full, BEFORE any infestation from single player campaign; although assets can be lifted from single player campaign to make this more feasible, please note that the layout was largely non-explorable, which could be corrected by having a more open, more exploratory Bug Hunt map )

5- USS Sulaco (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, with useable power loaders available to purchase for high amount in hanger bay -perhaps with attached weapons as featured in preview footage- and expanded ship area as featured in "stasis interrupted" single player dlc)

6- Gateway Station (complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, complete with Ripley's apartment and boardroom area from movie with Nostromo crew bios being shown on screen)

7- USM Auriga (if rights allow, complete, movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, possibly with water-logged sections, requiring players to swim past, and allowing opportunity to show xenomorphs utilizing a swimming animation ala Alien Resurrection; also opportunity here for attached/docked Betty ship to explore as well)

8- USCSS Prometheus (if rights allow, complete movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, complete with cargo bay and Vickers/Weyland's apartment/escape pod; possible opportunity to have Deacon skin and small squids replacing chestbusters)

9-LV-233 with pyramid (if rights allow, complete movie tribute version ala the colony's "Tribute" map, complete with different chambers in pyramid, engineer ghost recordings, and attached Juggernaut ship; possible opportunity for infected Weyland Yutani mercenaries after having been exposed to black goo ala Fifield)

Possible Other Locations:

*Legato (spacecraft can be lifted from single player game and further expanded in Bug Hunt)

*Resolute (spacecraft can be lifted from single player game and further expanded in Bug Hunt)

*Post-apocalyptic Earth setting (Paris, France) ala Alien Resurrection alternate ending (this location can resemble the "sh*thole" Johner described and very much be a Borderlands-type setting)

If these maps are given consideration and released for purchase, a Bug Hunt collection of 12 maps could theoretically be offered (9 new, 3 existing) as a season pass download, or even a stand-alone digital product, which would make this popular game mode available to an even wider pool of players (consumers) and expand the potential for increased profits. Perhaps by offering a free demo of the "Tribute" Bug Hunt map up to wave 20 out of 30, this would allow players to experience this entertaining game mode themselves, and entice them to give this content a fair chance.  Whatever the case may be, we, the undersigned, feel that the Bug Hunt game mode perfectly captures the Aliens movie experience and would like to see much more of it. So, with all that being said, we implore you to please tap into the enormous potential with Bug Hunt and provide fans with one last wave of fan-friendly, fan-requested content.

Remember, as said in A:CM, "We don't leave marines [the Aliens:CM community] behind!"

P.S.:  Additional customization features for multiplayer players would also be much appreciated, as well as a fully auto pulse rifle from the film (basically Ripley's pulse rifle from DLC, but without the flamethrower attachment).

Supplemental Information:

Bug Hunt Patch recommendations

1.  The ability to have a rotating spectator camera upon your death

2.  The ability to change loadouts for each respawn

3.  More working eggs with facehuggers in the various stages

4.  The option to toggle enemy types (Weyland Yutani mercenaries only, Aliens only, Mix of Aliens and Weyland Yutani, random)

5.  Improved artificial intelligence (AI) pathfinding, that way players do not have to be taken out of the moment and be forced to "trigger" computer enemies to attack them

6.  Improved weapon/projectile physics, that way players do not get attacked through walls, damaged through walls, or have their propelled grenades explode improperly

7.  Implement Bug Hunt achievements (to give players incentive to complete each map in various ways on different difficulties)

http://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/index.php?topic=48111.0

8.  Ability to customize alien skins (for example, option to have aliens use lurker and warrior skins only, even when their damage and health is increased in later waves, and to switch alien spitter skin alien to dog alien skin, allowing enemy type to still spit, just with the alien 3 dog skin)

9.  Ability to bypass 30 enemy waves and select option to play with endless waves of enemies, which would thereby allow players to fight for survival as long as possible, and challenge themselves to play for hours on end, going for the longest survival time, rather than fight to complete a set amount of waves.  Possibly have players play up to wave 30 as usual, sans boss fights, and just repeat wave 30 enemies over and over)

NOTE TO SUPPORTERS:  For those who sign this petition and wish to support more Bug Hunt DLC, please remember to contact Sega of America, Gearbox Software, and Demiurge Studios at the following places and repeatedly voice your desire to see more Bug Hunt for A:CM:

                                         WHO TO CONTACT AND HOW

20th Century Fox: (A:CM Licensor - Since Fox must approve of any DLC, Please support the cause and let the rights holder know about our desire for more content.)

Sega of America (A:CM licensee/publisher - since the decision for more A:CM DLC largely rests with Sega, please support the cause and focus your attention here)

Demiurge Studios (A:CM developer)

Twitter:  https://twitter.com/demiurgestudios

NOTE TO SEGA/Gearbox Software:  If need be, please know that many people within the A:CM community are open to "kickstart" the effort for more Bug Hunt DLC and pay for the development costs up-front so to speak.  Given this, if cost is an issue, please grant fans the option to subscribe ahead of time and cover the development costs, that way there is little to no risk on your end and fans still receive opportunity to "special order" more Bug Hunt content.

ALTERNATIVELY, if you should opt out from producing further content for A:CM, would you please consider allowing the fan base to produce content ourselves? By releasing the game's full source development kit (SDK) for sale, you can still "retire" the game so to speak, but place its future into the hands of the very people who the game was made for in the first place - the fans. Aside from allowing fans to create an infinite amount of content, offering a SDK (aka, mod tools) for purchase would provide you with an additional revenue stream that could spur additional sales of the base game in the future. Whatever the case may be, by pursuing either of these options, or perhaps even both (Bug Hunt DLC + SDK), we, the undersigned, believe that these possibilities can enrich the overall game and allow its legacy to conclude on a high note.

SPECIAL THANKS to: All Employees of Gearbox Software, Demiurge Studios, and SEGA. All of the A:CM Community forum members across the internet, All those involved in creating the franchise we all love, and to one certain "Grunt" ;)
